JP has no faith in EC: Ershad

Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad yesterday said that they have no trust in the Election Commission. “It will be proved through the Brahmanbaria-1 (Nasirnagar) by-polls how neutral the commission is” he added.

He made the remarks while addressing a party rally at Kalikachcha Eidgah in Sarail upazila of Brahmanbaria district.

The government’s attention is only focused on power, he said adding that no government can survive resorting to killing and making people disappeared.

Jatiya Party leaders Ruhul Amin Hawladar, Environment and Forests Minister Anisul Islam Mahmud and State Minister for LGRD Moshiur Rahman Ranga were also present at the rally.

The by-election to the parliamentary seat which fell vacant following the death of Fisheries and Livestock Minister Muahammed Sayedul Hoque will be held on March 13.
