The Cabinet Secretary M Shafiul Alam, yesterday at a Cabinet Division meeting at the Secretariat in the capital, said that a 20-storey building will be constructed shortly at the west side of the administrative hub to accommodate office rooms of the bureaucrats. At the meeting, the secretaries said that most of the senior officials including the additional secretary and the joint secretaries were not getting rooms in their respective ministries and divisions which disrupted the official tasks. Replying a query at the meeting, the Cabinet Secretary said that there are shortages of office rooms in the secretariat and they have planned to construct a 20-storey building on the west side of the secretariat soon.
He was chairing the Cabinet Division meeting, while the secretaries of different ministries and divisions took part there. The Cabinet Secretary, however, urged his colleagues to make preparations to hold the upcoming national polls in a credible and peaceful manner.
He also asked his colleagues to help to maintain law and order situation. In the meeting, the cabinet secretary asked the secretaries to complete all the development projects and the Prime Minister’s priority projects within the stipulated time.
