Premiere show of �Jalaler Galpo� held

The film hits cinemas across country on September 5

The premiere show of ‘Jalaler Galpo’ (Jalal’s Story), one of the finest and much-talked about films of Impress Telefilm that received best film award in Avanca International Film Festival in Portugal, was held on Sunday at Blockbuster Cinemas of Jamuna Future Park in the city. Among many other reasons, mainly for two prime reasons -  a) a number of mentionable achievements in international arena and b)  receiving uncut censorship certificate—the release of the film has become a centre of attraction in the country. Bringing an end to the long awaited release of  the film for the local audience, ‘Jalaler Galpo’ is going to be released finally on September 5 in about 25 cinema halls across the country including city’s Blockbuster Cinemas, Star Cineplex of Bashundhara City Shopping Mall, Madhumati, Balaka Cine World and Shymoli Cineplex.
The premiere show of ‘Jalaler Galpo’ was attended by Managing Director of Impress Telefilm Faridur Reza Sagor, Jamuna Group Directors Dr. Md. Alamgir and SM Abdul Wadud, Director of ‘Jalaler Galpo’ Abu Shahed Emon, actors of the film Mosharraf Karim, Toukir Ahmed and Shormi Mala, among others.
On the other hand, noted theatre personality Nasiruddin Yousuff Bachchu, Abu Sayeed, Golam Rabbani and popular actress Bipasha Hayat also joined the premiere show to inspire the talented director.
Besides receiving the Asian Cinema Fund in 19th Busan Film Festival in 2014, the film also enjoyed its world premiere in the main competitive category ‘New Current’ of the festival. In addition, the film was also screened as the only Bangladeshi film at the International Film Festival of India 2014’ (IFFI) in Goa, India.
In 2015, the film participated in the main competitive category of 7th Jaipur Film Fesitval in India and director of the film Emon received the best newcomer director award for the film in the festival. Moreover, ‘Jalaler Golpo’ was praised in the 33rd Fajr International Film Festival in Iran in April this year, while the film was screened and praised in the 6th Fiji International Film Festival held on July 17 to 23.
Produced under the banner of the Boutique Cinema Project of Impress Telefilm, ‘Jalaler Golpo’ has already received an uncut censor certificate from the Film Censor Board and is now set for release in cinemas shortly. The key cast of the film includes, Toukir Ahmed, Mosharraf Karim, Moushumi Hamid, Sharmimala, Nur-e-Alam Nayan and Metali Das. The central character ‘Jalal’ is jointly played by newcomer Arafat Rahman and Mohammad Emon. l
