A 10-day solo Pata Painting exhibition titled ‘Chitra Pate Bangabandhu’ of Patua Nazir Hossain is underway at the Bangladesh National Museum in the capital, reports UNB.
The inauguration ceremony of the 32nd solo Pata Painting (patachitra) exhibition was held on Friday.
Prominent artist Hashem Khan was present as the chief guest while poet and filmmaker Dildar Hossain attended the ceremony as the special guest.
Pata Painting (patachitra) is a traditional art form characterised by religious and social motifs and imageries. Pata is a Bangla word evolved from the Sanskrit patta meaning cloth.
The exhibition will run every day from 9:30am to 5:30pm and 2:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Friday, until March 11.
