Just ahead of three days of AFC match, Abahani Limited in a bit pensive when two off their four foreign players had injury during practice sessions as their opponents New Radiant Club of Maldives are due to land in the city today at 11:30am.
Meanwhile, Abahani was scheduled to begin their AFC Cup campaign with taking on the Maldives team on March 7 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Coach Saiful Bari Titu informed yesterday after the practice said, “Sunday, the main striker and Emeka Darlington, his Nigerian compatriot also had injury but not major.
Titu said, “During practice session Sunday came out from the field having an injury but think it would be not anything major and Emeka also had a problem the day before. Hope they will come round soon.”
“God sake, if they would not available in the match it would be huge setback for us, without all four foreign booters it would be really tough for us to fight against them who have three Spanish booters,” said Titu.
“Now we have four players from abroad, Emeka, Sunday, Alison Wuduka and Seiya Kozimo, we have chalked our all our plan with these four players, so it is a great headache for us whether we will able to field them or not.”
