The minister said this while speaking at a lecture session on the book ‘Unfinished memoirs of Bangabandhu’ at Milon Hall of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in the city. As part of the 40-day programme commemorating the 40th anniversary of martyrdom of Bangabandhu, BSMMU organised the programme with its vice-chancellor Prof Dr Quamrul Hasan Khan in the chair. Architect Poet Rabiul Hussain, eminent cultural personality Pijush Banerjee, pro vice-chancellor of BSMMU (Education) Prof Dr Md Ruhul Amin Miah and pro- vice-chancellor (Research and Development) Prof Dr Md Shahidullah Shikdar were the discussants, among others.
Turning to the ‘Unfinished memoirs of Bangabandhu’, the minister said, “In his book (autobiography) Bangabandhu described stories of an unusual time when Bangladesh had been marching towards its war of independence through many incidents of people’s struggle”. “Going through this book anybody can realise as to how Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was transformed into Bangabandhu (people’s friend) and how he became the leader of a whole nation. For this reason and due to his charismatic leadership quality, people from all walks of life took part in the War of Liberation.”
