The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has initiated a probe against a former assistant officer of Kasimpur’s Land Office in Gazipur for allegedly embezzling public property worth Tk 50 crore, reports UNB. The Commission at its recent meeting decided to launch probe against Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury, former assistant officer of Kasimpur’s Land Office, ACC sources said. Earlier, the ACC received a specific graft allegation against Mizanur Rahman and after examining the allegation preliminarily, the Commission has recently decided to conduct a probe in this regard. According to the graft allegation, Mizan gave mutation of government land worth Tk 50 crore against the names of fake people while he was attached Kasimpur’s Land Office. Later, he occupied the land misusing his power.
