There will be no shortage of sacrificial animals on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, commerce minister Tofail Ahmed said yesterday. “At least 30 lakh cattle and 69 lakh goats are ready for sacrificial purposes. Besides, other necessary items related to Eid-ul-Azha are in adequate numbers and cattle prices will be stable too,” the minister said at a function at the EPB conference room in the city. The commerce ministry organised the programme to meet traders and discuss the pricing of essential items during the forthcoming festival with them. “The government has taken several initiatives to increase cattle rearing in local farms. There are adequate animals against the national demand,” Tofail Ahmed said.
