DU to expel 7 BCL men

The Disciplinary Committee of Dhaka University yesterday recommended expulsion of seven Chhatra League activists of Salimullah Muslim Hall unit, who brutally beat up Ehsan Rafiq, a second year student of disaster management and vulnerability studies department, leaving his right eye seriously injured.

Among the BCL men Omar Faruk, assistant secretary of BCL of the hall unit, has been recommended to expel permanently from the university.

Samiul Islam Sami, Ruhul Amin, Mehedi Hasan Himel and Fardin Ahmed have been recommended to expel for two years. All of them were second year student of the university.  Ariful Islam, BCL hall committee vice-president, was recommended to expel for one year from the university.

On February 6 night, a group of BCL activists of Salimullah Muslim Hall unit of DU beat up Ehsan Rafiq  mercilessly over a calculator.
