DSE hopes stocks to rebound soon

BSS

Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) yesterday hoped that the stock markets will rebound soon as the authorities concerned have already taken different initiatives to bring back the investors' confidence, reports BSS.

"Ups and down in the stock markets is a common phenomenon. Recently, Bangladesh Bank reduced the limit of Advance Deposit Ratio (ADR) for banks which created some confusion among the investors," DSE Managing Director KAM Majedur Rahman told journalists at a press conference at DSE in the capital.

Earlier, BB instructed the banks to implement the new ADR limit within the next June, later, the central bank has extended the timeframe to another six months, he said.

He expressed the hope that the initiative will create a positive impact on the stock market.

Among others, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) Director Saidur Rahman and Secretary General of the Bangladesh Merchant Bankers Association (BMBA) Khairul Basar were present at the press conference.
