At least 10 people, including two children, were killed and 50 others injured in a fatal road accident on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Tribordi in Sonargaon upazila yesterday noon, reports UNB. One of the deceased was identified as Yasmin, a worker of Ananta Trading garment. A Chittagong-bound 'MD Yasin Paribahan' bus from Dhaka hit a lorry when its driver lost control over the steering, leaving eight passengers of the bus dead on spot and 52 others injured around 2 pm, said Abdul Qaiyum, officer-in-charge Kanchpur Highway Police. Among the injured, two succumbed to their injuries on way to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, the OC added. Locals rescued the injured and sent 24 of them to DMCH and the rest to Sonargaon Upazila Health Complex. On information, Additional Superintendent (Crime) Motiar Rahman visited the spot.
