Contractor shot dead

A contractor was gunned down by some miscreants in Mohakhali area of the capital on Sunday morning, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Nasir Kazi, 48, a resident of Muktijoddha road, Kachabazar in Dakkhin Khan area. Borhan Uddin, inspector (investigation) of Banani Police Station, said a group of miscreants fired gunshot at Nasir around 8:30am while he was working at a construction site behind Mohakhali Cholera Hospital, leaving him dead on the spot. On information, police recovered the body.
