City cruise to women’s cricket final

City Club cruised to the final with seven-wicket victory over Indira Road Cricket Academy in the second semifinal of the Dhaka First Division Women’s Cricket League at the Gulshan Youth Club Ground yesterday.   

They will now fight for the league title against Sheikh Russell Sports Development Academy in the final at the same ground on Tuesday.

Put in to bat, Indira Road compiled 151 before being all-out in 39 overs after which City Club hunted down the target with seven wickets and 17.4 overs in hands. Sabekun Nahar smashed an unbeaten 55 and named for the player of the match award.

Earlier, Sheikh Russell confirmed their spot in the final beating Rayer Bazar Athletic Club by five wickets in the first semi-final of the league on February 22.
