Bangladesh Bank (BB) yesterday asked the scheduled banks to use Bangla in loan approval letters for implementing the objective of the "Bengali Language Introduction Act, 1987”, reports BSS.
"All banks will have to use Bangla in loan approval letters for implementing the goal of the Bengali Language Introduction Act, 1987 and protecting the client’s interest," said a BB circular.
But, banks can also make loan approval letters in English as well as Bangla, the circular added.
The circular also said the instruction will be effective from July 1, 2018.
