Environment experts, environment activists and civil society members yesterday called for including gender perspectives in national policy and action plan to face climate change impacts, reports BSS. They made the call at an exchange of opinion meeting at CIRDAP auditorium in the capital yesterday. Steps Towards Development and World Vision Bangladesh jointly organised the meeting.
The speakers said women have to pay socially and economically for climate change impacts. Therefore, gender perspective should be included in the national action plan adopted to face climate change impacts, they ]added. Steps Towards Development Executive Director Ranjan Karmakar presented a concept paper. Dr Atique Rahman said besides including gender perspective, women should be involved in the national action plan adopted for facing climate change impacts. Dr Mahbuba Nasrin said changes come to the whole life cycle of women because of the social and economic price they have to pay for climate change. Presided over by World Vision Bangladesh Group Director Wilfred Shikukular, the meeting was addressed by Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies Executive Director Dr
