Cox’s Bazar: Three people, including a mother and her child, were killed and 15 others injured as a bus plunged into a ditch in Eidgah Islamabad area on Cox’s Bazar-Chittagong highway early yesterday, reports UNB. The deceased were identified as Kamal Uddin, 26, a member of ward-7 of Palongkhali union in Ukhia upazila, Razia Begum, 32, of Moheshkhali upazila and her son Sagar Uddin, 2. OC of Ramu Tularam highway police camp Mujibur Rahman said the Cox’s Bazar-bound bus from Dhaka fell into a roadside ditch when its driver tried to save a pedestrian in the area around 3:00 am, leaving eighteen passengers injured. Later, the injured passengers were rushed to Chokoria upazila health complex and Chittagong Medical College Hospital where the three succumbed to their injuries.
