Two killed by lightning

Two people were killed and two others injured in separate lightning incidents in the district yesterday. The deceased were identified as Asharaful Islam, 31, of sadar upazila and Reazul, 29, of Haripur upazila. Local people said Asraful was struck by lighting while he was catching fish at Shahapara village in sadar upazila in the morning. A thunderbolt hit Reazul while he was cutting grass in a field at Kanmdal village in Haripur upazila yesterday afternoon.  He died on the spot. In another incident, Sirajul Islam, 35, and Ashobala, 40, were injured by lightning at Valator and Sindagor villages under Pirganj upazila yesterday afternoon. They are admitted to Pirganj Upazila Health Complex. OC of Thakurgaon sadar police AKM Mehedi Hasan and Haripur Union Parishad chairman Mominul Islam confirmed the incidents.
