Robber lynched in Narsingdi

Narsingdi: A fugitive robber was killed in a lynch-mob attack in Bir Ahmmadpur area of Monohardi upazila early yesterday, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Siddique Miah, 35, son of Sona Miah of Paschim Chalakchar area. He was sentenced to 17 years jail in a robbery case.

Jinnat Ali Jinnah, sub-inspector of Monohardi Police Station, said when a pedestrian saw that a gang of robbers were committing robbery in a house in the area he informed the villagers around 2:30am. On information, the villagers chased the gang members and caught Siddique while the others managed to flee.

The villagers gave him a good thrashing, leaving him dead on the spot. On information, police recovered the body.
