The warship of Bangladesh Navy BNS Bangabandhu left the country yesterday to attend the 6th Doha International Maritime Exhibition and Conference- (DIMDEX-2018) to be held at Doha in Qatar from March 12-14 this year. A total of 230 naval personnel led by commander of warship Rear Admiral M Ashraful Haque will attend the DIMDEX this year, says a press release, issued by the Inter Service Public Relation (ISPR), yesterday. After attending the DIMDEX 2018, the warship will go for goodwill-visit to Mumbai in India and Colombo in Srilanka. The war vessel will return to the country on March 29, the release added. The Qatar Armed Forces (QAF) has organised the DIMDEX 2018 and at least 30 countries including Bangladesh are participating the event. DIMDEX acts as a cooperative chain, linking naval and defence industry professionals to initiate commercial deals, showcase state-of-the-art technologies and provide consultation with the objective of sustaining stability across global waters and protecting shores, borders and assets.
