State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroze Chumki yesterday stressed building the children as the educated and skilled citizen, reports BSS. "Nearly 44 per cent of the total population in Bangladesh is children, and if we could able to develop the vast population as educated and skilled human resources, our country must be turned into a developed country," she added.
The state minister passed the remarks while inaugurating the Children Dignity Week organised by International Lions Club at Avay Binodini High School in capital’s' Basabo area. With Lion Chitta Rangan Das in the chair, GMT Area Leader Lion Najmul Huq, Lion Shafikul Azam Bhuiyan, Ward No-5 acting Awami League President Altaf Hossain and Avay Binodini High School Headmaster Goutam Saha, among others, spoke on the occasion. Chumki said the government alone could not do all the development works in the society that's why people of all works have to move forward to expedite the government's initiative.
She urged the rich people to come forward for the development of children as well as establishment of social dignity.
Later, the state minister also distributed education materials among the students.
