BCC employees start work stoppage demanding dues

About 2,100 officials, regular and irregular employees and cleaners of Barisal City Corporation started work stoppage programme from 10am yesterday demanding arrears of 6 months. They also held a demonstration in support od thewir demand. They, however, observed three hours work stoppage programme since two days but started full day programme from yesterday. All the doors of the office were locked. City dwellers have been facing problems due to the programme. They vowed to go with the programme until their demand is not met. Ignoring the statement of the employees and workers BCC mayor Ahsan Habib Kamal said employees and workers are breaking chain of command starting programme inside and outside the office. He said BCC paid part of due salaries recently.
