USAID Acting Administrator Alfonso said United State will increase support to Bangladesh for facing the challenges regarding climate change, says a press release. Alfonso gave the assurance during a meeting with Environment and Forests Minister Anwar Hossain Manju at the secretariat in the capital yesterday. US Ambassador to Bangladesh Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat was present in the meeting. Alfonso expressed its appreciation for Bangladesh saying it is really praise worthy how the country spent the local and foreign funds of climate change.She also said government has taken initiative to protect the Sundarbans. The project supported by USAID is now implementing for alternative sources of income of the people depend on the Sundarbans would be enhanced.
