Road, Transport and Bridges ministers Obaidul Quader yesterday said Awami League formed alliance with the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) acknowledging their role before and after the assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibibur Rahman.
“So, there is nothing creating fresh debate over JSD role after independence war,” said Quader, also the AL presidium member. He was talking to the reporters after visiting Bipile roads area at Ashulia, in Savar.
Replying to a question, the AL senior leader said, there is no possibility to develop a crack in the AL-led 14-party grand alliance as JSD had earlier sought apology to the AL for their controversial role after the liberation war.
Replying to another question, he said if anyone wants to raise the debate again, then that will be their personal debate. AL is not implicated with the debate in no way, he added.
He also said that the grassroots AL may have some problems but there is no conflict in the central level AL.
Earlier, AL presidium member Sheikh Fazlul Karim
Selim and its joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam
Hanif had said JSD had paved the ground of the assassination of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
