At least two people were killed and 30 others injured as a tour bus carrying 70 people plunged into a deep ditch near Tulshiganj bridge in Sadar upazila yesterday evening, reports UNB. The deceased were identified as Liton Hossain, 35, son of Guljar Ali of Bakhra village in Kalai upazila in Joypurhat and Zahidul Islam, 45, tour bus cook, son of Yakub Ali of the same village. Naogaon district Police Super Iqbal Hossain said a study tour bus carrying some 70 people, including guardians, teachers and students, of Bright Future Academy of Kalai upazila of Joypurhat was returning home after visiting the town. During an U-turn, it fell into the ditch at around 6pm, leaving two dead on the spot and 30 others injured, he said. Firefighting units conducted rescue operation and the injured were taken to Naogaon Sadar Hospital, he added.
