Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid yesterday urged the students to acquire knowledge on modern education as well as developing moral values aiming to build an economically developed country, reports BSS.
“It is urgent to build an ideal nation through providing global standard education to make the students efficient workforces,” he told the 1st convocation of Bangladesh Islami University(BIU) at the Basundhara Convention City, an official release said.
Chairman of the Public Service Commission (PSC) Dr Sadat Hossain was the convocation speaker. Chairman of University Grants Commission Prof Abdul Mannan, BIU Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Anwarullah and Chairman of BIU Trustee Board Kamal Uddin Abdullah Jafori, among others, addressed the convocation. Nahid said the government will take legal action against the private universities which have failed to fulfill their conditions to run the university under the rules of the Private University Act-2010.
