The Christian Religious Welfare Trust Act, 2018 bill was placed today in the Jatiya Sangsad amending the Christian Religious Welfare Trust Ordinance, 1983 for establishing a peaceful society maintaining the communal harmony including welfare of the Christian community living in the country, reports BSS.
Religious Affairs Minister Principal Matiur Rahman placed the bill in the House with Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
Placing the bill, the Religious Affairs Minister said the effectiveness of the Christian Religious Welfare Trust Ordinance, 1983 was extinct with declaration of the constitution (seventh amendment) act, 1986 illegal.
Earlier, the government has finalized a bill on The Christian Religious Trust Act, 2018 amending the Christian Religious Welfare Trust Ordinance, 1983 and already has recommended by the President, he added.
Another report adds: The Buddhist Religious Welfare Trust Act, 2018 bill was placed yesterday in the Jatiya Sangsad amending the Buddhist Religious Welfare Trust Ordinance, 1983 for establishing a peaceful society maintaining the communal harmony including welfare of the Buddhist community living in the country.
