MAGURA: Department of Environment (DoE) in drives with district administration on Tuesday fined at least 13 brick kilns Tk 6.5 lakh for illegally burning woods, reports UNB.
Ilias Hossain, officer-in-charge of Magura Sadar Police Station, said a team of DoE led by Khulna DoE executive magistrate Iqbal Hossain and Maruga executive magistrate Moushumi Jerin conducted a mobile court at 13 brick kilns at Chaulia and Kochhundi union of Sadar upazila and fined Tk 50,000 each for illegally burning wood at the kilns.
