Recitation event in city Feb 17

A recitation event titled ‘Prem o Nirjonotar Golpo’ will be held at the Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of the Central Public Library in the capital on February 17. Kalporup, a recitation organisation, will arrange the event on the occasion of the 119th birth anniversary of Jibanananda Das. The event will be performed under the direction of Shawon Hasnat.  Inviting all to enjoy the show, Hasnat told UNB that they are working selflessly to practise recitation and train people to use the pure language.

During his lifetime, Jibanananda remained solely a poet who occasionally wrote literary articles, mostly on request. Only after his death were a huge number of novels and short stories discovered.
