Speaker,CJ calls on President

Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury and the Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain yesterday made courtesy calls on President M Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban, reports BSS. The Speaker congratulated M Abdul Hamid for being reelected as the President of Bangladesh for the second consecutive term. During the meeting, the Speaker apprised the President of overall activities of the parliament. President Hamid also thanked Dr Chaudhury for her overall activities in the parliament. Meanwhile, the Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain also made a courtesy call with President M Abdul Hamid at his official residence Bangabhaban.

The chief justice congratulated M Abdul Hamid for being reelected as the President of the Republic for the second consecutive term. The Bangabhaban spokesman added that during the meeting, Syed Mahmud Hossain apprised the President of various activities of the Supreme Court. Abdul Hamid also thanked the chief justice hoping that country's judiciary would be able to work independently led by him (CJ). Secretaries concerned to the President and high officials were present at the events.
