Gazipur Metropolitan Police Act, bill placed in JS

The Gazipur Metropolitan Police Act, 2018 Bill was placed yesterday in the Jatiya Sangsad for constituting a separate police force with a view to maintain the law and order of the Gazipur City Corporation area, reports BSS. Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan placed the bill in the House with Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair. Placing the bill, the home minister said the government has enacted the draft of Gazipur Metropolitan Police Act 2018 for maintaining the people’s security, the law and order and improve services of the police at the Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) area.

Another report adds: The Rangpur Metropolitan Police Act, 2018 bill was placed today in the Jatiya Sangsad for constituting a separate police force with a view to maintain the law and order of the Rangpur City Corporation(RCC) area.

The RCC is constituted within a total of 203.63 square kilometres of Rangpur and its adjacent areas.
