QUESTION PAPER LEAKS

Students’ alliance to lay siege to education ministry Feb 25

DU Correspondent

The Progressive Students' Alliance, a platform for left-leaning students of Dhaka University (DU), announced to lay siege to education ministry on February 25 demanding resignation of education minister who ‘utterly failed’  to stop continued question paper leaks saying that he could not avoid his responsibility. Coordinator of the platform Golam Mostafa also president of Bangladesh Chhatra Federation made the announcement at a press briefing held at the Madhu’s canteen of the university at 1:30pm yesterday.

They also demanded punishment of the responsible persons, who involved in the crime and those perpetrators who were taking bribes in education sector to destroy it.

They said question paper leak now become a phenomenon as almost all questions of public examinations were available in internet hour before the exams. They also alleged that none of the culprits were punished in the near past, so offenders feel that their wrongdoing can go without punishment and they also feel a sort of encouragement.

They also alleged that government employees, coaching centers, guidebook businesses, political activists and some teachers have been part of a big nexus in leaking question papers prior to all the public examinations. But the authorities are not serious about breaking the nexus.  Progressive Students Alliance will hold protest rally across the country on February 14 to press home their three-point charter of demands.
