3-day ‘Daffodil ICT Carnival’ begins at DIU

A 3-day ‘Daffodil ICT Carnival 2018’ began on DIU permanent campus at Ashulia yesterday, says a press release.

Daffodil Family has decided to organise the ICT Carnival for the students, teachers of the institutions under Daffodil Education Network from February 11 to 13, 2018.Three day carnival includes competitions, project showcase, smart hakathon, programming contest, counseling and mentoring.  The winners, best innovators and performers will be awarded a smart cash incentive which is worth of Tk 10 lakh.

The objective of the festival is to bring all the talents, industry and opportunity on the same platform so that it gets success in true form. The host is planning to organise it in an innovative, effective and broader way to bring the best outcome from it.

Nat’l science fest begins at JU

Jahangirnagar University Science Club (JUSC) organised a two-day ‘National Science Festival-2018’ on the campus for the second time.

Chief Coordinator on Sustainable Development Goals Affairs at the Prime Minister's Office Abul Kalam Azad inaugurated the festival in Zahir Raihan auditorium. Ten universities, 20 colleges and 30 schools participated in the festival featuring quiz contests, robotic workshops and project presentations.

JUSC President Shariyar Kabir Shohag, its treasurer Prof Sheikh Md Monzurul Huq, and Advisor Prof Khabir Uddin attended the event as special guests.

Two-day ‘Pitha Utsab’ ends at RU

Rajshahi: A two-day Pitha Utsab (Cake festival) titled 'Bangaliana Pitha Utsab-1424' ended at Rajshahi University (RU) on Thursday.

RU Economics department arranged the festival at the university Iblish playground for the second times to promote traditional Bengali winter cakes.

Economics department chair Prof KBM Mahbubur Rahman inaugurated the festival as chief guest on Wednesday.

A total of twenty stalls were set up at the festival showcasing various kinds of homemade pithas, including Bhapa, Chital, Sandesh, Chui, Puli, Papra and Patishapta.

The stalls were lavishly exhibiting conventional as well as new recipes of pithas that catered to the tastes of all.
