Two held over �gang rape� of housewife

Police yesterday arrested two alleged rapists in connection with Wednesday’s ‘gang rape’ of a housewife at Nandipara under the capital’s Sobujbagh Police Station.
The arrestees were identified as Manir Hossain, 30, a fish trader, and Zafar Ali, 32, a poacher. They are residents of Nandipara as well.
Inspector Mostafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sobujbagh Police Station, confirmed the arrests.
The OC said the arrestees were named in the FIR. The other accused have been absconding since the incident.
During primary interrogation, the arrestees admitted their involvement in the rape and disclosed names of their accomplices, said the OC.
Meanwhile, coordinator of One Stop Crisis Center at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Dr Bilkis Begum, said doctors have completed the forensic tests and that they need two days to get the results.
