RMG factory catches fire in Gazipur

A fire was broke out at a ready-made garments factory in Kashimpur area of Gazipur city at around 1.30 pm on Wednesday. Station officer of Joydebpur fire service Mohammed Zakir Hossain said, the fire ensued on the 2nd  floor of a six-storey building of  Greenland Garments Limited at the area at about 1.30 pm on Wednesday and soon spread to other adjacent floors.

On information, four firefighting units from  Joydebpur, Kashimpur DBL and  Kaliakoir fire stations rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after two hours of frantic efforts.

The losses and the reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.

The actual losses caused by the fire was not be estimated.

Fire service sources said, machinery, threads, cloths and other valuables were damaged in the fire.  However, no casualties were reported in the incident.
