More books hit book fair

More books have been published in the first week of the month-long Amar Ekushey Grantha Mela 2018 comparing to that of last year. A total of 729 books hit the fair in the first week with 190 books on the seventh day yesterday. The last year's number was 572 in the first week, reports UNB.

Number of books of short stories, novel, essay and poetry published in the first week are 87, 86, 37, and 149 respectively.

A discussion event on Abdul Gaffar Dutta Choudhury was held yesterday at the main stage of the fair where Shuvendu Imam presented the keynote speech.

Presided over by Bhishna Dev Choudhury, Ali Mostofa Chowdhury, Jafir Setu, Mustak Ahmed Din participated in the discussion followed by a cultural programme.
