Popular theatre troupe Loko Natyadal (Banani) will stage its much-acclaimed play ‘Sonai Madhab’ at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), Segunbagicha in the capital today.
Directed by Youngin Gomez,, the production is based on a story from Mymensingh Geetika, a collection of traditional ballads. Music of the production was done by Mostafa Anwar Swapan.
‘Sonai Madhab’ weaves a tale of romantic tragedy between Sonai and Madhab, the leading characters in the play. The play is a dramatic depiction that weaves woes, agonies and dilemmas of women in a traditional narrative way.
The audience enjoys the tragic love story presented in the play following the traditional ‘Padabali Jatra’.
