Bangladesh posted their second successive win in the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group-4 tie beating Kyrgyzstan by 2-1 matches in Muscat yesterday. Bangladesh took the lead through Amol Roy who defeated Kotlyarevsky Georgy of Kyrgyzstan 6-0, 6-1. Kristanov Krill defied Bangladesh from winning a straight match victory as he beat Dipu Lal of Bangladesh 6-4, 6-4 in the second singles match. Amol again came to rescue when he pairing with Ranjan Ram defeated Kotlyarevsky Georgy and Kristanov Krill 7-5, 6-0 in the doubles match.
Earlier on Wednesday Bangladesh snatched an identical victory against Iraq. Amoly Roy sent Bangladesh into lead beating Barakat Zainy of Iraq 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. Adel Mustafa Al-Saedi drew level for Iraq defeating Dipu Lal of Bangladesh 6-2, 6-4 in the second singles match. Amol Roy and Ranjan Ram earned a hard fought 7-6, 6-4 win over Ali Khairi Hashim Al Mayyahi and Adel Mustafa Al-Saedi of Iraq in the paired match to confirm Bangladesh’s victory.
