Stocks closed the week down yesterday with falling trends of all major price indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges as the daily transactions declined amid volatility in large-cap securities, reports BSS. During the week, the daily average trade value declined by 12.2 per cent to Tk 394.68 crore and the average trade volume fell by 0.2 per cent to 9.96 crore shares.
The broader DSEX of the DSE finished the week with 194.36 points down at 6,021.45. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 76.77 points down at 2,227.92 and with 34.38 points down at 1,397.06 respectively. Out of the 338 issues traded on DSE, 48 gained against 273 losing issues.
The top five gainers of the week were Monno Ceramics, AIL, First Finance, Monno Stafflers and Takaful Insurance. The major losing issues of the week were National Polymer, Lanka Bangla Finance, MHSML, GQ Ball Pen and BBS.
The top five turnover leaders were GP, Square Pharma, Ifad Autos, Monno Ceramics and Lanka Bangla Finance. Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week down, with its major CASPI index ending 536.98 points lower at 18,623.83.
