State Minister for Jute and Textile Mirza Azam yesterday said the government has a plan to produce 200 tonnes of eco- friendly jute polymer bag soon in a day, reports BSS. “As many as 200 tonnes of jute polymer bag to be produced every day after receiving technical assistance from Japan and Germany,” he said while responding to a supplement query placed by treasury bench member M Abdullah of Lakshmipur-4 in the House.
The jute mills, the minister said, now producing 5,000 pieces eco-friendly jute polymer bag manually and trying to produce these polymer bag commercially with the assistance from Japan and Germany. “We are trying to bring a particular type of machine from Japan for producing huge volume of eco-friendly jute polymer bag,” he said, adding, “After procuring the machine, we will be able to produce 200 tonnes of bag in a day.”
