FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman was sharing 2nd position in the 26th Edition of the Telegraph Schools’ Chess Championship-2018 now being held in Gorky Sadan in Kolkata.
Fahad and two others earned 5.5 points each after 6th round games on Tuesday. In fact the 5th and 6th round games were held on the day.
Tahsin Tajwar Zia was sharing 3rd position along with other 12 players with 5 points each. Mahfuzur Rahman Saif earned 4 points, Manon Reja Neer earned 3.5 points and Syed Ridwan earned 2 points.
In 5th round FM Fahad beat Ambarish Sharma of India, Saif beat Souvik Mondal of India, Tahsin lost to Srijit Paul of India, Neer lost to Aditya Basu of India and Ridwan lost to Arhat Chattopadhyat of India.
In 6th round games, FM Fahad drew with FM Mitrabha Guha of India, Tahsin beat Ayan Pal of India and Ridwan beat Atrajit Bhowmik of India, Saif lost to Atri Chatterjee of India and Neer lost to Sankalan Saha of India.
