Youth rescued after abduction in capital; four arrested

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a special drive rescued a youth, who was kidnapped from Nabodaya Housing area in the city's Adabor, and held four abductors early yesterday, reports UNB. The victim is Shahria Simanto, 19, son of Hazi Md Sharif Alam, hailing from staff quarter at Hazaribagh in the city.
Some miscreants abducted Simanto from road-5, block-B of the housing area where he went to visit his friend. They forcibly pushed him in a private car and demanded one lakh taka to the victim's father as ransom around 7.10pm. Later, Simanto's father informed RAB, said a press release of Rab-2.
A team of the elite force conducted a drive there around 2.45am, rescued the victim unhurt and arrested four of the six kidnapers, the press release added.
