RMG worker hacked dead in Tongi

A readymade garment worker was hacked to death allegedly by miscreants in Sharif Market area of Sataish in Tongi of Gazipur city on Thursday night.
The victim was Abdul Hannan alias Liton, 30, son of Tayeb Ali Sarder of Kanchon Nagar area under Faridpur upazila in Pabn district. He was a quality inspector of Seasons Dresses Limited, a readymade garment factory in the area.
Sub-Inspector of Tongi model Police Station Jahangir Alam said Liton lived at a rental room owned by one Malek Koshai in the area.
Two miscreants stabbed him with sharp weapons at around 9pm on Thursday while he was staying in front of his room. The miscreants left the area quickly after the incident.
Locals rescued Liton and sent him to Gutia Medical College Hospital, but the doctors referred him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as his condition was deteriorated. However, he died on the way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Later, on information, police recovered his body and sent it to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
