On the occasion of celebrating fourth anniversary, Khamkheyali Sobha, an organisation for practicing and promoting Rabindra Sangeet, has organised a two-day programme on the premises of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in the capital. The event features seminar, award and cultural programme. As part of the event, two separate seminars on ‘Pathkrome Rabindranath: Bangladesh O Bharat’ will be held in two sessions today at the Seminar Room of BSA.
In the morning session, Professor Ahmed Kabir, Department of Bangla, Dhaka University will present an essay. Presided over by Language Movement veteran Ahmad Rafique, DU professor Dr Manjurul Islam, professor Shyamoli Akbar, Bangladesh Open University Professor Dr Shoaib Gibran and Sammilita Sangskritik Jote general secretary Hasan Arif will be present as discussants.
At the evening session, Dr Avra Basu, Department of Bangla, Visva Bharati, Santiniketan will present an essay, while Vice Chancellor of Rabindra University Bangladesh Dr Biswajit Ghosh, Director of Kolkata Tagore Research Institute Dr Monjula Basu, DU professor Dr Mahua Mukhopadhyay will be present as discussants. DU professor Emeritus Anisuzzaman will chair the evening session of the seminar.
On the second day of the celebration a cultural programme will be held, followed by an award ceremony at the National Art Plaza Auditorium of BSA at 5:30pm tomorrow.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will attend the ceremony as chief guest and will hand over the crest to the recipients. This year, litterateur Karunamoy Goswami, Dr Monjula Basu (India) and Rabindra Sangeet singer Mita Huq will be awarded with ‘Rabindra Guni Sammanona’. Presided over by convener of Khamkheyali Sobha Mahmud Hashim, Language Movement veteran Ahmad Rafique will be present as special guest.
In the cultural segment, Indian singer Amitabh Mukhopadhyay, Bangladeshi Rabindra Sangeet singers Bulbul Islam, Aditi Mohsin and Zakir Hossain Tapan will render popular Tagore songs, while Jayanto Chattopadhyay and Tamanna Tithi will recite poems and Rachel Priyanka Paris and her troupe will perform Charya dance.
