‘Murder accused’ killed in ‘gunfight’

An alleged murder accused was killed in a gunfight with police at Bolashpur area of Mymensingh town early yesterday. The victim was identified as Nayeem Mia, son of Nazir Uddin of Krishtapur area of Mymensingh town. Khandaker Shaker Ahmed, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station, said police arrested Saddam Hossain, 24, and Pavel, 25, from Mymensingh town in connection with the killing of one Ibrahim Khalil on Friday. Ibrahim, a second-year student of Islamic history and culture department at Government Ananda Mohan College, was stabbed dead in Bolashpur area by muggers on Thursday night.
