Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) formally honoured to veteran players Tushar Imran and Abdur Razzak for their jaw-dropping first class cricket performance yesterday.

Few minutes before the toss of the sixth encounter of Tri-nation series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, the teammates of the Tushar and Razzak handed over crests as memoir to Tushar Imran and Abdur Razzak at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza handed over crest reading 10,000 to Tushar Imran, while Abdur Razak received crest reading 500 from Bangladesh Test and T20 captain Shakib Al Hasan in the presence of the current national team’s players, coaching staffs and the team management.

Mashrafe at a post-match conference told that they should reward them for their accomplishments and that young players should follow their suits as it is told by Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad.

‘10,000 runs and 500 wickets, it’s not fun,’’ said Mashrafe in Mortaza

Both Tushar and Razzak are now out of the national team. Actually the duo gave their entire focus and attention on first class cricket after dropping out of the national team.

The 34-year-old Tushar had got down playing international cricket for Bangladesh in 2001. Being stepped into international career with one-day, he played so far 41 ODIs wearing red and green jersey. The right-handed batsman scored 574 runs off 41 appearances with the best figures of 65 that he did against Pakistan. He played his last one-day match against New Zealand in December, 2007.

Along with that, he had played five Tests and made 89 runs with the best of 28.

Three years later, Razzak also opened his international career with one-day in 2004. The 33-year-old spinner played 153 one-day internationals, from where he scalped 207 wickets with the best figures of 5-29.

The left-hander later played 12 Tests and 34 T20Is besides his one-day stint, wherein he hauled 23 wickets off 12 Tests with the best of 3-93 and 44-T20I wickets from 34 outings with the best of 4-16.

Tushar Imran crossed a milestone of 10,000-run first class cricket at the time of the first round fixture of the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL). And Razzak surpassed a benchmark of 500-wicket first class cricket during the second round outing of the BCL. At this moment, Tushar is the highest run-scorer of the first class cricket. Along with that, he struck the highest number of 26 centuries and 54 half-centuries in his 155-match first class cricket career.

Earlier, the BCB also hosted such a reception for fast bowler Rubel Hossain and awarded him with a crest for his 100-ODI wickets for Bangladesh.
