Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) recalled Imrul Kayes as they named a 16-member Bangladesh squad for the final of the tri-nation series yesterday.
Even though Imrul was kept in the 16-member Tigers’ squad for the initial two matches of the three-team tournament, he later was dropped out of the team for the third and fourth matches because of his fitness as he received injury on his left-thumb what was completely healed before the announcement of the squad for the third and fourth match.
After dropping out of the national fold, the 30-year-old opener played in the third round game of the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL), wherein he struck a century for Prime Bank South Zone.
Bangladesh squad: Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Anamul Haque, Imrul Kayes, Mohammad Mithun, Sabbir Rahman, Nasir Hossain, Mustafiur Rahman, Rubel Hossain, Abul Hasan, Mehedi Hasan Miraj, Mohammad Saifuddin and Sunjamul Islam.
