Rickshaw-puller beaten dead

A rickshaw-puller has been beaten to death in the capital's Bhashantek area, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Tajul Islam, 40. Hailing from Dikdail village in Tarail upazila of Kishoreganj, he had been living at Lal Sharail of Bhashantek. Victim's brother-in-law Abul Bashar said Tajul brought a rickshaw in partnership with Al-Amin of the locality and since then, they had been at loggerheads. Al-Amin called Tajul out of his house on Tuesday evening and he along with some other people beat the rickshaw-puller mercilessly behind the Jahangir Slum, Bashar said. Being rescued, Tajul was taken to Suhrawardy Hospital where doctors declared him dead. As the relatives took the body home, police recovered it on Wednesday and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
