Mother, daughter found dead at house

Police recovered the bodies of a woman and her little daughter from a house near Ahmedbagh Community Centre under Sabujbagh Police Station in the capital on Tuesday, reports UNB. The deceased were identified as Shantona Begum, 26, wife of Mamun, an electrician, and their daughter Mahfuza,2. Informed by locals around 8 am, police broke open the door only to find Shantona hanging from the ceiling while Mahfuza’s body lying on the floor. Shantona might have taken her own life after killing her daughter as her husband Mamun and Sarna eloped following their extramarital affair, officer-in-charge of Sabujbagh thana Quddus Fakir said. The OC said Sarna had long been staying in their house leading to the extramarital affair. The bodies were sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
