NARAYANGONJ: Police arrested BNP leader advocate Taimur Alam Khandaker on Tuesday afternoon, outside the district court here in connection with a violence case, reports UNB. Officer-in-charge of Fatulla Police Station Md Kamal Uddin said they arrested Taimur around 1:15 pm in a case filed for instigating violence during the non-stop blockade of BNP- led alliance in 2015.
During the detention of Taimur, president of Narayanganj district unit of BNP, a scuffle took place between law enforcers and local BNP backed lawyers, witnesses said. When police arrested him, Taimur was campaigning for the BNP backed panel at the court for the upcoming Narayanganj Bar Association polls on January 30, while the police arrested him.
