The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) has urged the authorities concerned to take steps to bring down the interest rate of home loan and flat registration fee, reports BSS.
The apex trade body also suggested increasing the
timeframe for repayment of home loan up to at least 10 years.
FBCCI Standing Committee relating to Ministry of Housing and Public Works also urged the authorities concerned to control the price of construction materials like-rod, bricks and sands.
For the development of housing sector of the country, the FBCCI leaders suggested bringing down the interest of home loan to five per cent and the existing flat registration fee 6-7 per cent from existing 12 per cent.
The committee also decided to hold a ‘Housing Fair’ at FBCCI at a suitable time.
Chairman of the standing committee Liyakot Ali Bhuyan Milon presided over the meeting while director in-charge of the committee Rashadul Hossain Chowdhury (Ronni)
and vice-president of FBCCI Md Muntakim Ashraf attended the meeting, among others.
